I was looking on American Girl, and I noticed Nellie's outfits seem less expensive then the other girls outfits, and many of the others don't seem to come with shoes/socks. And then I read the post about Felicity and Elizabeth's outfits and the prices should be 28, while Nellie's holiday outfit is 24 and her spring party dress with shoes and accessories is only 22!

I just thought that was odd.

That is odd that they're cheaper than the others. Maybe it has something to do with the complexity of the design & the materials used (I think the Elizabeth christmas dress is going to be really fancy & beautiful) . It couldn't be because they're going to retire her (speaking of which, how long will she be here?) I love Nellie's christmas dress .

I think it's a marketing thing. They're trying to encourage people to buy the "friends" of dolls they already have and they are trying to give an incentive for us to buy them. Also, maybe they're trying to get new customers to buy the new "friend" doll as their first doll (after having seen the movie) and they're trying to make it seem like AG clothes and accessories are really quite affordable...lol! I kind of thought most of the dresses were $22, with an occasional $20 (kit's birthday dress) and $24 (most of Felicity's stuff).

Are you sure Nellie's are less expensive, or are you just looking at fancy stuff? Kit's and Molly's birthday dresses are only $20, where most of Felicity's stuff is more expensive.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">But most of the new outfits this year seem to be $24-$28.

I imagine they've done the market research to figure out what people will pay.

But the disparity is odd. To be truthful, I don't like Nellie's clothes - they seem strange to me. But Nellie is gorgeous.
